Love Served with Injera is a short, illustrated family story told in simple English and Tigrinya.
Binyam is nine years old. He knows a lot about his African American family history, but almost nothing about his Habesha side. So he asks his parents and grandparents to tell him their story.
This book tells the story of how his parents met — in a small family restaurant, over injera, language learning, and a very spicy test.

As a first-generation Habesha living in a Western country—like in Europe, North America, and others—I can read it to my son, who is second-generation.
